Triptych
tells the stories of a 30-year-old corporate ladder-climber who
flees her top-rung job, a pair of teen siblings whose mother's
recent passing leads them to spiritual crisis, and a pair of best
friends who consider how their lives have or have not measured
up to Barbie's. "Each story focuses on women who are going
through a crisis in their lives," explains playwright Kaipa.
"The pieces are autonomous, but they are wed together by
the idea of 'falling,' whether from their original dreams, conflated
dreams, or reality." -- Interlope.com
A
series of 3 short stories dealing with the experiences of south
asian women who have grown up in the US. The poetry of these related
yet distinct stories helps to bring to life the very real issues
facing some of our young women in the south asian community today.
A
thoughtful collection of work. Lighthearted at times, dramatic
at others, a range of emotions to be experienced exploring the
lives of women many of us know. Here the intangible is made real
in the form of live performance. Kaipa's just started, come check
out her first theatrical exploration.
