Once we had all eaten, Jhaiji sat down in her favorite chair and peacefully ate her meal. My father had bought these styling chairs after returning from his first trip to America in 1960. This is one of my favorite images, as it unveils a quietness and peacefulness that accompany a great meal :) On a more serious note, it is as if the matriarch of the home, after having taken care of the entire family, now humbly sits down, knowing she has cared for the family and can rest. The evening sunset is approaching.

There are more images in this series, but I haven't had a chance to get them printed up. Let's just say there are tons of negatives and one day they will see the light of day :)
