People who've seen my drawings often ask who the woman is. Many have commented that these drawings are probably sub conscious self portraits. In truth, I'm just drawing what's in my imagination. I never start these drawings with any pre-conceived notions. They are all spontaneous creations which reflect a moment in time, as I'm experiencing that moment. More details below. I started creating these drawings to relax and basically get away from my computer and email. Since much of my life seems to revolve around this machine. These drawings represent an emotional purging and creative freedom. When I finish a drawing, I usually feel much more at peace.

All these ink drawings have been created on handmade paper which utilizes paper making techniques used in the Himalayan region for over a thousand years. The paper was created by artisans in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.

ABOUT THE PAPER:

The paper is made from the bark of the Argali (Edgeworthia gardneri) shrub. Argali is one of the faster regenerating plants used in Nepalese papermaking. Using this alternative paper source helps to preserve the endangered forests of Nepal. Each sheet is unique with it's own variations in texture and color.
