Kavita Bali: ......Writer, ...Producer, ...Director, ...Editor

Filmmaker Kavita Bali grew up in the US since age 6. Her early films sought out a balance in understanding between her immediate environment with a desire to discover her elusive cultural heritage. In the mid-1990's, through her early films Kavita hoped to bring forth a greater awareness in how our heritage and traditions could positively be embraced in our modern lives.

Today, Kavita's art is taking on a conceptually experimental twist. Stay tuned for updates.

Kavita has a BFA from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design and has studied Film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Currently Kavita divides her time between her design consulting company, Urban Peacock; writing her first feature film; supporting intergenerational community programs and serving as a creative inspiration for designers, artists and filmmakers across the globe.

Much like sketching, Kavita has always seen short films as a powerful way to explore ideas on a small budget. Cultivating themes, drawing out the essence of of the story, using the film medium to bridge her imagination with the soul of her audiences ... that's why she continues to make art and films... for others to see and feel what she sees and feels.
