Women's Building, Main Auditorium, 3543 18th Street, San Francisco,
CA. Asian American women artists transform a wooden bowl, exploring
their interpretations of the simple object, a universal object in
Asian cultures. The bowls were generously donated by IKEA East Palo
Alto.

and a Movie' Red Devil Lounge, SF, CA. Kavita showcased her
latest paintings 'Autumn', 'Summer',
'Summer II', 'Disco Under the Sea', 'Blinding Waters'. The place
was packed with fellow Bay area artists, musicians and filmmakers.
The band Viv was awesome as always. The painting that received the
most smiles was 'Autumn',
folks loved the blues and vibrant colors in this piece. Viv
is one of my favorite local bands, they're awesome. |

'South Asian Youth Conference - Finding Role Models' presented by
(IACC) the Indo-American Cultural Center at UCLA's Tom Bradley International
Center, Los Angeles, CA. Kavita was invited to be an opening speaker,
representing the 30 something generation. The Conference was an
opportunity for youths to connect with successful role models who
are in non-traditional professions for the purpose of mentorship,
dialogue and support. Kavita spoke primarily about her 15 year design
career starting at RISD art school in the early 1980's, to graphic
designer to corporate high tech UI Design Director and now the creative
director of her own consulting business. Some
