Women Creators of the Asian Diaspora' In honor of International
Women's Day presented by Mango
Mic at the PUSOD Space, Berkeley, CA. Kavita
was one of the 3 featured artists. She shared her poetic films,
'To Serve One's Country', 'Birth of a Butterfly', 'Distant Souls';
her visual book 'Passages' and stories of growing up in the US during
the 1970's.

'South Asian Youth Conference - Finding Role Models' presented by
(IACC) the Indo-American Cultural Center at UCLA's Tom Bradley International
Center, Los Angeles, CA. Kavita was invited to be an opening speaker,
representing the 30 something generation. The Conference was an
opportunity for youths to connect with successful role models who
are in non-traditional professions for the purpose of mentorship,
dialogue and support. Kavita
spoke primarily about her 15 year design career starting at RISD
art school in the early 1980's, to graphic designer to corporate
high tech UI Design Director and now the creative director of her
own consulting business.

in Residence, lecturing and sharing her art, films, poetry ('Evenings
Slumber ' and 'Still Life') and design experiences from the past

1971.
