Cultural Community Vision

Through film, art and poetry, Urban Peacock hopes to bring forth a greater awareness in how our heritage and traditions can be positively embraced in our modern lives. Through Urban Peacock, Kavita also serves as a mentor and community advocate to help people around the world find creativity within their lives.

Cultural Convergence: A Renaissance of Contemporary Art - thoughts by Kavita (spring 2001)

The United States is going through a sort of artistic renaissance greatly due to the changing demographics of it's citizens. Today, California is leading the nation in it's rich tapestry of ethnicities.

We are in the midst of a cultural celebration, where next generation immigrants are voicing their emotions through their art. Creativity plays an important role in our world of understanding. Artists are interpreters of the human condition.

Here at Urban Peacock, we believe strongly in the need for art to be easily accessible and serve as a bridge in communications between communities and generations.
